Simply Living Life on the Edge.

These past few days, have been insane. Exam week; is the worst week ever. Every time exam week comes around my body goes into a beast mode; well I have one exam down, 2 more to go. One of those being Biology…

I dread/ hate/despise this class with a special personal passion. I prepared all night, my stomach was in curl, I felt like throwing up this morning. I got a pump talk from my personal motivator Kyle Shinault, A boy.  Who inspires me in every way. A boy, who has been there for me , and makes time just to help me . ( A special blog is in the making for him). I'm so shaky, and nervous, to help me Luis Beltran takes me on a "Breakfast exam date" , we got to Mcds ,I eat & STUDY, and try to shake off the gooey feeling that is consuming me.......

Well, I go in only to find out due to the weather… EXAMS ARE CANCELLED.  We had to stay in school for 2 hours; we would be dismissed at 10:30. The time was used to study; or so we say. I currently have a new phobia it’s called “staying in a semester too long”. I’m traumatized, I feel trapped in this semester…. due to snow everything has been cancelled and moved and changed, I’m going insane! Anyway today we discovered a new person, a new theme, living life on the edge, I sat with Beffer, Kelsey Wilson,& Drew Alley.

( don't try to act like you look any better during exam week)

We talked about relationships, and our crazy adventures.  Our theme for today was “Living life on the edge”, Beffer recently got out of a 3 year relationship, she’s  going through a tough time a conversation that went a little like this has us all stunned
Beffers Mom: “What time are you going to be home tonight?”
Beffer: “tmrw morning, I’m going to party, I’m living life on the edge
Beffers Mom: “umm. Okay?”
Beffer: “I’m just kidding, I have a math exam, I have to do math problems”
Weird right? Shows a little bit of the old Beffer and the NEW beffer.
Since we all looked like crap, our moods were relaxed; Drew says “I don’t really care what I look like, if someone is going to love me they are going to love me for me”
Beffer says …”yup, I’m going streaking, from now on call me JBARK,or does J Money sound better?"
We are living life on the edge.
Beffer also said “I’m going sky diving with out a parachute; I should have been living life on the edge a long time ago”
Are teacher comes and says “did you put crack on your fruit loops this morning?”
No Mr. Carpenter... We’re living life on the edge.
Jeremy: “I made a 79, I passed by a point”
Beffer:”That’s awesome!! Way to live life on the edge, I'm going to be more like you
“If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much room"
- She doesn't care what she looks like any more, or what pictures go up. She's going to follow her heart, and live for herself. Yes, this is the same girl who would not skip school even if the principal asked her too.
This is JBark, the girl who's going to make it. The girl who now found her indpendence through struggles and tears. Ladies & Gentlemen meet the new and improved Jessica Barker.

Simply A Wonderful day(:

Today was indeed a good day, full of many activities. I woke up at 9:00a.m because Damian Padron said we would be going to practice soccer today .You see we have daily practices to make us better soccer players.
(Me after a hardcore 3 mile run)
Well, Damian is always late, but he pulled a HUGE mexican on me & was one hour late. This is deff a new record for him. We also pick up the beautiful Panaiyota Boutis whom is also striving to be a better soccer player , the soccer field is her kingdom. Me & Pota are so much alike, she is Greek, i've learned a lot of her langauge and she's learned a lot of mine. We take from each others culture and form an amazing friendship. I feel like she's almost my sister, she could deff pass for it.
                                                            My isnt she lovely?
We practice soccer for two hours, finally leaving the gym we came back to my house, my mother taught her a little bit about the hispanic cuisine. Then we sat our selves onto the computer ofcorse. Then we shared with each other these three videos.

I showed her this video that was shared with me by Sarah Horton, as soon as I turn around  , she was crying . I thought success.

Then she showed me this video, I have not stopped listening to this song, I love it. I need Jesus like a hurricane, that's exactly how I feel.

This is the next video that was shared, this video is NOT a true story, the meaning is what I like about it. I am a strong believer that we should not send Gods word through negative statements. However, I felt differently about this video, to me, it was not meant to be scary in a creepy kinda way , although! we should have fear of our God, and the message that this video brings is simply to tell your friends about Christ , because anyday could be there last, or your last.   ... "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"- Matthew 28:19

Nexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxt, we decided it was time to make Birthday boy Zach Koons a little birthday suprise! We made him yummy yummy Cupcakes!

Today is his 16 birthday! Zachy is my neighbor, and one of the greatest friends I have.  Boutis and I show up at Zachys house were we see Beffer & My Husband. We all go out to eat for a birthday bash at Talaquepaque! Ofcorse Zachy gets attacked with whipped cream.
We dropped Beffer off.. Then Zachy & Husband dropped me and pota off & like the
gentlemen they are, walked us to our door :)
Finally ,we ended our day with a  Novela.
Yes, it is a spanish show. I had to translate every once in a while.

Simply Beffer.

My bestfriend, beffer. Do not ask me where the name Beffer came from, because it literally fell out of this clear blue sky. Jessica Barker is her birth name, but to me she will always simply be Beffer.
She's my inspiration. She is a beautiful person, inside & out, always does good to others . She listens to everything I have to say with out interupting me, I could not have asked for a better person in my life.
Let me tell you a little about this lady; she plays volleyball, basketball & softball, she's a beast at all 3 sports. If you're ever looking for her , look beside of me , thats where she tends to spend most of her time. Jessica's grandfather Grandpa Robert, has had lung cancer for a while now, he has been her bestfriend, her coach, basically her father all her life. One day while coming back from his appointment , I saw how bad her family was truley suffering from all of this. Suddenly, a quote came to my head a quote that reminds me of what my dad always told me ..
"Do all the good you can,By all the means you can,In all the ways you can,In all the places you can,At all the times you can,...To all the people you can,As long as ever you can.”-john wesley.
I had promised her to always be there for her & I was going to keep my promise. I wanted so badly to show her support I wanted so badly to show her that I love her & that everyone else does too.
So, Kelsey Wilson another one of my dearest friends and I had a great idea, we were going to get ALL our sophomore class to wear t-shirts , cancer t-shirts, to show support, to give hope, to remind them of Gods love. The idea spread through out our whole class & even some people from different grades payed for shirts to support! Jessica Barker was NOT to know about this, that's right it was going to be a suprise!  The weeks went by, we gathered donations from our student body and from the Toress company whom grasiously donated 500 dollars to go toward this cause. I'll let the newspaper help me tell my story..
East Surry sophomore Jessica Barker certainly knows the value of a good friend. But even she was surprised by the lengths that friends Kelsey Wilson and Nathallie Chavez went to recently in order to show support for Barker and her ailing grandfather.

Barker’s grandfather, Robert Gordon, is in the midst of a battle with cancer. The stress has taken its toll not only on Gordon but on his granddaughter with whom he shares a particularly close relationship. Wilson and Chavez had seen the effects of that stress and had concocted a plan to surprise their friend in a way that would show their support for Jessica and her grandfather.

The pair, also East Surry sophomores, had spent weeks working on a plan they had dubbed “Project Hope.” They had solicited donations and were eventually able to purchase T-shirts for the entire sophomore class. The front of each black shirt bore a message of support accompanied by the image of a ribbon and the word, “Hope.” The back of each shirt featured Robert Gordon’s favorite verse from the Bible, Psalm 56:3, which states, “When I am afraid, I will trust in You.”

Wilson and Chavez received additional donations from their classmates that allowed them to completely pay off the shirts and, with leftover funds, provide Jessica with a framed picture of herself and her grandfather.

Throughout the process, however, Barker was unaware of what her friends were doing as well as what they were planning. She was made aware on Dec. 10, when the girls covertly kept Jessica away from classmates as everyone put on their shirts.

She first saw the shirts on Wilson and Chavez and was touched, thinking they’d had the shirts made for themselves as a simple show of support. But then, as she walked the hallways of the school and saw so many of her classmates wearing identical shirts, she realized the enormity of their project and of their support.

“It was definitely a surprise,” she said with a smile. “It was great but I couldn’t believe I hadn’t known about it. I couldn’t put into words how amazing it felt that they’d do that for me.”

“But as good as I felt,” she continued, “I needed my grandpa to see it.”

Again, Wilson and Chavez were eager to support their friend. Barker plays for the East Surry High School basketball team and the school had a pep rally planned in preparation for that night’s East Surry-West Stokes game. Students planned to wear their shirts to the rally and Jessica called her grandmother who agreed to get Gordon to attend, without knowing about the shirts.

When Gordon came to the rally, he was greeted by a mass of students showing their support for him by a simple message on their shirts. And according to Barker, her strong, reserved, usually stoic grandfather was touched by what he saw.

“He was speechless,” Barker recalled. “It brought tears to his eyes. His spirits were a little down and I think it lifted him.”

Barker was especially impressed by Gordon’s reaction after her game that evening.

“He loves sports,” she noted, “and we’ve always talked about sports together. After a game, he always wants to go over it with me. But that night, all he talked about was the rally and the T-shirts. That’s when I knew how much it had touched him.”

“These girls did this for their friend out of love,” explained Monica Wilson, Kelsey Wilson’s mother. “They wanted Jessica to know that they love her and support her and are there for her and her family. This had no purpose but to say we love you, we’re here for you and we’re praying for you.”
Do you know how long it took us to get Beffer out of class? FOREVER. This girl works hard in school, her mother even LIED to her & told her that the school had given her a free breakfast at Mcd. that morning. She refused to go because she had a MATH TEST, it made things so much more complicated. She was in the building as we gave out 200 shirts, for one hour , during first period we ran all around campus , handing out t-shirts explaining the game plan. Finally, Mrs.Smith called beffer up to the office , so we could give the t-shirts out to her classroom & GUESS WHAT! Beffers math teacher did not allow her to go because of her MATH TEST, we had forgotten to tell Mrs. Martin what was going on! Luckily, one of the teachers manage to explain what we were doing over the phone. When Jessica came back to the classroom it was time for break, she was stalled in the room for a few sec.. then the big SUPRISE was waiting outside, as she made her way through the hall 200 students stood holding hands , with there cancer t-shirts on & yelled out "WE LOVE YOU JESSICA" ..The tears in her eyes, the look on her face, was something that I would replay over & over again if God allowed me to do so..It was an experience of a LifeTime.

Simply A Family.

"MOM! have you seen my shoes?"  "Mommy! I need to go!"  "Ama! I cant find my shin guards!"
"Dad! hurry!"  "Dadddddddddddddddddyy come pick me up!"  "Apa! I need you to come here"

If there is anybodys life that is more complicated than mine, it is my parents.
Did I forget to mention that I am one out of NINE? That's right. NINE.
Let's start  introducing shall we?

                                             Sara Lysette Chavez
Yaritza Yadira & Giselle Lupita Yamili
Gonzalo Sebastian, Christina Gianella, Liannette Soledad &
Jose Guadalupe

                         Lexzandra Celeste
We were raised by two beautiful people. Not only are we a BIG family, but we are all soccer players.
My dad coaches most of our teams. We are half Mexican & half Spanish and No , it isnt the same thing.
We are all different, we have are own unique way of being, we some how clash and get along well.
It isnt always perfect, we have our fights & our disagreements , but we manage to end on a good note.
The good thing about having such a large family is the movie nights, we have plenty of those, pick a few movies , gather around and watch them , with or without my parents. We also, make a point to have sleepovers, sometimes there will be 2 rooms empty and one room FULL, we rarley rat each other out, we will cover up each others mistakes regardless the consquiences.. We were taught to work hard and to do good to everyone we possibly can. Each of us have a good head on our shoulders, needless to say My bestfriends , never leave my side.

Finally; Meet Jose Guadalupe & Yadira Chavez.
I speak for all nine of us when I say... We have the best parents in the world, they're real Heros.

Simply A Girl.

I'm Nathallie. There is nothing regular about me , nor simple.
Then why is my name Simply Nat? Well, because I enjoy the simplicity of life. Simple means not complex, nor complicated, it is not that I am that, it is that I want  to be that. I aspire to always be Simple. All I want to be contradicts everything I already am, starting with simply my name. Instead of the good ole' "Natalie" or "Nataly" my dear mother had to add a silent "h" and a extra "l" therefore, already adding a little twist to me striving to be simple. Not only that, speaking of contradictions my name means "christmas baby" but GUESS WHAT?  ..My birthday is smack down in the middle of summer. Many thanks to Sarah Horton for introducing me to the blogging world, I'm sure you will hear of her again.
