Mon amie.

When I was about 7 or 8 years old I went to a sleep over at a friends house. Her dad was a preacher and we had to go to her church for whatever reason. When we got there they told us we were not to go inside. I peeked inside the door and before I knew it another little girl(who was also from the sleepover) was standing next to me also peering through. Without speaking a word we slowly walked in.
We saw a casket in the front of the church and made our way to it, we stood there, are heads tilted  in curiosity as we starred at the corpse. We looked at each other, shrugged, and then she says, "hey, it's kind of cool."
"yeah, should we touch it?"

We're 18 now, pursuing a degree in psychology, and it's because we love picking through people's mind. It's also secretly because we want to discover why and how do 7 year old girls form a friendship by sneaking in to see a dead body.
And it's all fun and games until someone asks us how we met.

I am just blown away by our ability to get ourselves into cruddy situations since 04'
(we love taking pictures so.. enjoy).

We thought we would find dates to go to a friends wedding shower this past Saturday.  We couldn't think of any boy who would want to spend their evening with us. The two guys we could think of, were out of town. So, we did what any two, single, weird, girls would do, we went together. She was my date, and I was hers.

No shame in our game.

My goodness, we had a ball

.
She made me breakfast.

The process...

She helped me with my make up. Here's a very edited picture of me being serious. Thanks Em.

                                                                   I did her hair.

                                                                Before and after.

Went to the wrong place  ( this is really how she reacts when things go wrong )

Found the right place and had so many laughters at the wedding shower (I'm dying to tell the story of what happen there because it's hilarious,  but you would think very differently of us)

Left the shower & well, got lost again. (because, we always get lost, including in mt.airy for one hour when we were 16.. true story)

We were going hard singing a song, when suddenly the music cuts off and we were left singing acapella style the car decides to stop functioning.

Then her parents had to come get the two stranded girls and the poor car.

We just decided to end our day after all the mishaps so..we went from hot to not in a matter of seconds.

Her mom told us awesome stories as she cooked dinner.

Our conversations started out with heavy hearts, and it's amazing what
a good friend, good meals, good talks,  and good laughs, can do to a person.

Ya'll, she is great, handles every situation so gracefully, even when we are completely lost we do not get frustrated with each other, we embrace adventurous . That's the kind of friends you want to have, the kind that bring out the best of you.
She's overwhelmingly beautiful, so it's crazy to think that despite of her physical attributes, they really don't compare to who she is on the inside.
AND She's absolutely hilarious.
She's honest and isn't afraid to call me out on my crap.
She's witty, open, and most importantly, God-fearing.
A leader in everything, if we eat, she leads us in prayer, when we get into the car, she leads us in prayer, before everything she goes to prayer.
A prayer warrior and God has truly blessed her.
I'm proud to say that she is one of the only people I can truly count on to tell me when I'm wrong.
She guards her heart  more than any young girl I know, such an example in love and purity.

Thanks Emily, for corpse, wal mart trips, being stranded, a trillion pictures, for prayers, and songs that get cut off in mid car karaoke. Thank you for long talks, for scripture when all else fails, for make overs, and for bumming together. Thank you for healthy meals, and not so healthly cook out shakes, for biology study sessions. Thank you for  8 a.m. Thursday mornings, and 2 p.m. Wednesday bible studies, for ice skating, for sba camp fun, for i hop, for sleepovers.

Thank you for hugs, for caring, for your giving heart, and thank you for a friendship that serves me so sweetly.
 I love you, mon amie.
